Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced Grossing Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Saranac Lake, NY. Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, Saranac Lake is known for its stunning natural landscapes, outdoor recreation opportunities, and welcoming community. This is an ideal assignment for a skilled Grossing Technologist who enjoys a blend of professional growth and scenic surroundings.

As a Grossing Tech you will play a key role in pathology and laboratory settings. Primarily responsible in the initial processing of tissue samples that come from surgical procedures or biopsies. These samples are critical for diagnosing diseases, particularly cancers.

Role and Responsibilities:

Perform accurate gross descriptions, dissection, and processing of biopsies, routine, and moderate complexity tissue specimens, following established protocols

Work under the direct supervision of a Pathologist and/or Pathology Supervisor

Participate in additional technical activities within the Pathology department, such as specimen accessioning, staining, cover slipping, routine maintenance, and cytology specimen preparation

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Science

Active New York State license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Histotechnologist (HTL)

Minimum of 1 year of grossing experience required

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and knowledge of laboratory protocols
