Oversee daily operations of the microbiology lab, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, and hospital policies.

Perform and supervise high-complexity testing using manual and automated techniques.

Act as a Technical Consultant to physicians and medical staff.

Manage quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.

Train, evaluate, and ensure competency of lab staff.

Develop, implement, and maintain lab procedures, protocols, and documentation.

Ensure accurate reporting of patient results and resolve testing issues promptly.

Maintain proficiency testing standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

Lead departmental safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness efforts.

Qualifications:

ASCP certification or equivalent – required

Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological science or Medical Laboratory Technology

5+ years of microbiology lab experience

Previous supervisory or management experience preferred

In-depth knowledge of laboratory regulations and accreditation standards
