We are seeking experienced Histotechnologists / Histotechnicians to join our Histopathology team within the Department of Anatomic Pathology. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a few openings available across all shifts, with a particular need for qualified candidates interested in 2nd and 3rd shifts.

The successful candidate will prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination and perform specialized histochemistry and immunocytochemistry testing under occasional guidance. This role also supports molecular testing, quality control, troubleshooting, and a high-volume workload, including STAT requests.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $63,960 – $95,930
Hourly Pay: $30.75 – $46.12 per hour
Shift Differential Requirement: Employee must work at least 4 hours of the applicable shift for the differential to apply.

Key Responsibilities
Complete daily workload assignments, including embedding, cutting, and staining tissue specimens.
Perform histochemical and immunocytochemical procedures, as well as specialized procedures requested by pathologists to support patient diagnosis.
Process specimens for molecular testing.
Perform and document instrument maintenance.
Maintain accurate records related to quality control and other departmental functions.
Maintain adequate quality control data and follow established laboratory procedures.
Train and provide direction and support to Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians.
Grossly identify tissue for adequacy in the operating room.
Communicate with the Attending Physician/Fellow regarding tissue adequacy.
Divide tissue cores and place specimens in appropriate fixatives.
Troubleshoot processes and follow up on issues as needed.
Manage a high-volume workload while responding appropriately to STAT requests.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Department of Anatomic Pathology.

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.

American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification
